Meet Mr. Winston

When you’re in the kitchen at Jerk House Eatery, the Caribbean vibes takeover. You can feel the culture radiating from Mr. Winston and that same energy blesses our food.

Mr. Winston is highly experienced in the craft and flavors of the Jamaican cuisine. As he said, “cooking is what I know best and what I do well.” He’s very proud of his work and it shows.

Raised in Montego Bay Jamaica, his father was a fisherman and he recalls his mother cooking traditional Jamaican dishes often. Cooking for him has been mostly self taught as he was simply drawn to it and loved to do it from an early age. He started fixing up dishes in the kitchen around age 6. He enjoys reminiscing on his early stages of his culinary foundation as he cooked for weddings and events as a young boy.

For 26 years of his life in Montego Bay, he worked at D&G, a Jamaican brewer and beverage producer, as a cook. Mr. Winston’s extraordinary skills were even sought out by Grace Foods, one of the Caribbean’s leading food manufacturers and distributors. These are a few highlights of his and now honors of ours, because he chose to offer his skills to the Jerk House team.

Some of his favorite dishes to cook include Oxtail (one of our bestsellers), Curry Chicken and Steamed Fish. Come to Jerk House Eatery and try the true taste of Jamaica, with many thanks to him!
